Our approach

Real change comes from within.

Rather than simply managing day-to-day behaviors, we give youth the psychological tools, clinical support, and practical life skills they need to break negative cycles, build empathy, and achieve long-term success.

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy & Trauma-Informed Care
  • Education, tutoring & credit recovery

  • Restorative justice & life-skills preparation
  • Family alignment & permanency planning

Appalachian Youth Service is proud to uphold an exceptional record of safety and accountability, consistently demonstrating remarkably low instances of runaways, physical restraints, and reportable incidents. This strong performance reflects the organization’s commitment to high‑quality care and has earned AYS consistently positive annual licensing reviews with the Department of Human Services.
