DELIQUENT YOUTH WORKER

OVERVIEW:

​Appalachian Youth Service has been a leader in providing
top quality care to delinquent youth since 1977.  Our
facilities are staff-secure, highly structured residential and educational facilities for youth.  The goal of our programs is to make positive changes with youth, providing them with the safety and security they require.  We have a fantastic track record with the Department of Human Services and across the state of Pennsylvania.  

Appalachian Youth Service is looking for individuals to 
staff our programs.  Ideal candidates would have a
background in psychology, criminology, or any related
field.  College degrees preferred, but not necessary!  We
are dedicated to our staff and will train the right person.

Are you able to follow a detailed schedule and enforce structure?  
Are you able to provide excellent supervision of the children we serve?  
Are you able to learn new processes and make sound decisions?  
Are you dependable and available to work different shifts?


If you answered YES to these questions, we would like to hear from you.  

We are looking for Full Time workers who are able to enforce our structure, follow directions, demonstrate the ability to make good decisions, and take pride in their work.  You will be required to work all shifts including weekends and holidays.  We offer a flexible scheduling system in which you are able to make reasonable requests for days you are unavailable. 

REQUIREMENTS INCLUDE: 
Must be at least 21 years of age
Must be able to work all three shifts including weekends and overnights
Undergo Child Abuse, State Police, and FBI clearances
Be able to complete an online Medication Administration course to administer medications 
Must have a valid PA driver’s license and clean driving record 
Must be able to complete Safe Crisis Management training, First Aid and CPR certifications
Provide appropriate structure and safety for youth within our care 
College degree or working with children preferred but not necessary
Maintain the rules and regulations in our facilities
Be a positive role model for the youth
